How we teach

Learning is a spectrum from pedagogy to andragogy.  That is to say, childlike learning to adult learning.

All of our students are on a unique journey to explore their own path towards becoming a doctor.

Despite following our own paths, we can learn more effectively and efficiently, together.  Indeed, this is a founding tenet of Pre Medical School.

In practice

Our lessons involve theory and practice and we highly encourage discussion.

We use sounds, images, writing, reading, and kinetic examples to ensure all of our learners are stimulated.

At the end of each session you will be encouraged to reflect on your learning by writing a response to a scenario.

Communities of practice

Pre medical school is a community of like-minded learners with shared goals and aspirations.  Whilst we differ in our backgrounds, our aims are similar.  By interacting with each other to share learning, ideas, and concepts, we can challenge our understanding of the world around us and broaden our learning.

Cognitive apprenticeship

Pre Medical school is unique in being founded by a doctor with a broad range of experience spanning 15 years.  This experience brings the opportunity to allow our students to interact, observe, enact, and practice essential skills that they will need on their journey to becoming experts in their own right.  We offer modeling, coaching, scaffolding, articulation, reflection, and exploration to help our students progress from apprentice to master.
